RULES


Pool Passes / Entry

  • Pool passes permit entry into the pool area

  • All patrons over the age of 1 must have a pool pass to enter the pool area, regardless of intention of entering the water

  • Pool passes are non-transferable and non-refundable

  • If adequate staffing is unavailable, hours and patron capacity may be subject to change

  • All swimmers under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or responsible guardian at all times

  • Parents must be in the water with their children who are 3 years of age and under

  • Individuals with open sores, skin diseases, or any communicable disease, are not permitted in the pool

  • Showers must be taken before entering the pool

Closure / Inclement Weather

  • Emergency procedures must be observed at all times

  • Upon signal or request of the lifeguards, please leave the pool area in a safe and quick manner

  • In the event of thunder or lightning, all patrons must completely clear the pool premises

    • Pool activities shall remain suspended until thirty minutes after the last instance of thunder is heard

  • Public Swim - If pools are closed due to inclement weather or water contamination, no refunds will be given

Prohibited Items

  • No water wings, “swimmies”, rafts, flotation devices, mask, fins or snorkels, torpedo toys are allowed

  • Water shoes are not allowed, as they track in rocks and debris attached to the bottom of the sole

  • Glass containers are not allowed within aquatics facilities

  • Drinking, smoking, the possession of alcohol, or the use of drugs is strictly prohibited at all times

    • Police may be contacted due to non-compliance

Proper Swimwear / Diapers

  • Proper swim suits are required - no street clothes are permitted

  • Changing of clothes must be done within designated changing areas

  • Children who are not toilet-trained must wear a swim diaper in the pools

    • All diapers and swim diapers must be changed in the restroom facilities

    • Diapers shall not be changed in public, on the pool deck, or in the grass area

Deep Water Swimming

  • To swim in the deep end, swimmers must pass a swim test given by the lifeguard who will issue a deep water bracelet to that swimmer that qualifies

  • Deep water test will be given every half-hour (frequency subject to change)

  • Aquatics staff may revoke the band if they feel it is unsafe to have that person in deep water

Other

  • Harassment, abusive or obscene language, or gestures may forfeit your right to use the pool

  • Running and horse play are not allowed

  • Practice sun safety; always wear sunscreen, seek shaded areas, and protect your skin from direct sun exposure

 

The Walpole Recreation Department reserves the right to ask anyone to leave
for failing to comply with
any of the above health and safety regulations.
